How to tell military time chart

military time charts can seem a bit intimidating, but once you understand their structure, it's actually quite simple to tell the time. Here's a breakdown of how to use a military time chart to tell the time.

First off, you need to understand the structure of military time. Unlike regular time where each hour is in the 12-hour format (i.e 9AM, 10AM), military time is based on a 24-hour clock system (i.e 0900hrs, 1000hrs).

To start, you'll need to learn a few key points about military time: there are no periods - only colons; all hours run from 00-23 (not 12 or 1 am); and all minutes are always two digits (so 07 instead of 7).

In order to actually use a military time chart and tell what time it is, you'll first have to locate the hour hand on the inner circle in the center of the clock face. Then look at the number at which it is pointing and relate it to an hour in regular 12-hour format. For example if your hour hand is pointing at "09" then that is equal to 9am in regular time.

Next, you'll have move your sights towards the outer circle which contains minute markers that range from 0-50 at five minute intervals. To determine minutes using this portion of the chart all you have to do is count five minutes intervals until your reach whatever number coincides with your minute mark on clock face i.e if my hour hand was on 09 and my minute hand was on "27" then 27 minutes would be equal two thirty two including two full revolutions around both circles representing 26 x 5 = 130 minutes + 2 minutes = 132 minutes which then becomes 0932 or 9:32am in regular 12-hour format).
